Functions

      • Policy Enforcement: Ensuring that all students are aware of the college's code of conduct and rules, and enforcing disciplinary actions in cases of violations.
      • Investigation: Conducting thorough investigations into reported incidents of misconduct or rule violations, gathering evidence, and interviewing relevant parties.
      • Fair Proceedings: Conducting disciplinary hearings in a fair and impartial manner, adhering to principles of natural justice, and providing accused students with an opportunity to present their side of the story.
      • Decision Making: Deliberating on the evidence presented during disciplinary hearings and making decisions regarding the guilt or innocence of the accused students, as well as determining appropriate sanctions or penalties.
      • Sanctions: Imposing sanctions or disciplinary measures on students found guilty of misconduct, which may include warnings, probation, suspension, or expulsion, depending on the severity of the offense.
      • Appeals Process: Establishing an appeals process whereby students have the right to appeal against disciplinary decisions if they believe there were procedural errors or unfair treatment.
      • Student Support: Providing support services to students involved in disciplinary proceedings, including counselling, guidance, and resources to help them understand and learn from their mistakes.
      • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of disciplinary cases, including details of investigations, hearing proceedings, decisions, and sanctions imposed, while ensuring confidentiality and privacy of sensitive information.
